     -isk, Gr. ?. Cf. -esque.]
     A suffix used to from adjectives from nouns and from
     adjectives. It denotes relation, resemblance, similarity, and
     sometimes has a diminutive force; as, selfish, boyish,
     brutish; whitish, somewhat white.
