     tooth.] (Zool.)
     Either one of two species of singular West Indian
     insectivores, allied to the tenrec. One species (Solendon paradoxus
     ), native of St. Domingo, is called also agouta;
     the other (Solendon Cubanus), found in Cuba, is called
     almique.
