  Tallage \Tal"lage\, Talliage \Tal"li*age\, n. [F. taillage. See
     Taille, and cf. Tailage.] (O. Eng. Law)
     A certain rate or tax paid by barons, knights, and inferior
     tenants, toward the public expenses. [Written also tailage,
     taillage.]
