     poy`s, podo`s, foot.] (Zool.)
     Any one of several species of large-footed, gallinaceous
     birds of the genera Megapodius and Leipoa, inhabiting
     Australia and other Pacific islands. Called also mound builder
     , scrub fowl, moundbird, and brush turkey. See
