  Kaka \Ka"ka\, n. [Maori kaka a parrot; -- so named from its
     note.] (Zool.)
     A New Zealand parrot of the genus Nestor, especially the
     brown parrot (Nestor meridionalis).

     short distance. Called also owl parrot, night parrot, and
     night kaka.
