     trepano, trapano), LL. trepanum, fr. Gr. ? a borer, auger,
     trepan, fr. ? to bore, ? a hole. Cf. Trephine.]
     1. (Surg.) A crown-saw or cylindrical saw for perforating the
        skull, turned, when used, like a bit or gimlet. See
        Trephine.
